At Waipahu-Leeward Veterinary Clinic, various surgeries are available for your pet, whether it is your dog, cat, bird, or small mammal.   These include elective surgeries, soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic surgeries.

Elective surgeries include sterilization procedures such as spays and neuters.   Waipahu-Leeward Veterinary Clinic is proud to participate in the ‘Neuter Now Program’ in partnership with the Hawaii Humane Society and the City and County of Honolulu.  This program is designed to promote the spaying and neutering of dogs and cats for their health and to prevent unwanted overpopulation of pets.  Most importantly this program enables pet owners to have their pets spayed or neutered at a significantly reduced cost to the owner.  For more information about this program and how to schedule a spay or neuter surgery for your pet, please call us today.

Examples of other elective surgeries include growth removals, biopsies, tail-docking, declawing of cats, and rabbit sterilizations.

Soft tissue surgeries usually involve internal organs and may be required for your pet’s specific condition. Examples include bite wound/trauma injuries, bladder stone removal, foreign body removals from the stomach or intestines, or exploratory surgeries to evaluate the internal organs.   
Orthopedic surgeries are available for various conditions including fractures, luxating patellas (loose kneecaps), and cruciate ligament injuries (knee injuries).
