Testimonials
"We love Dr. Yuen and all the staff at Waipahu Leeward Vet Clinic! They provide outstanding and affordable care to our beloved furbabies. We have four dogs, two with special needs, and Waipahu Leeward was able to provide innovative and effective treatments for them without us having to go to specialists as we've had to in the past. Incorporating acupuncture into Elvis's medication regimen saved the use of his hind legs when medication alone wasn't working. And PNut's epilepsy is so well-managed that sometimes we forget she has it! But our favorite aspect of Waipahu Leeward Vet Clinic is the staff and how they treat our animals as if they are their own. We are so grateful for all the wonderful care they have received!"
"We have been bringing our pets to Waipahu-Leeward Veterinary Clinic for over ten years now. Through regular check-ups and routine care, all four of our cats have enjoyed a happy life of comfort and ease for more than half of their lives.
When the oldest and youngest members of our clan developed serious health issues, our doctor (Mellissa Yuen) and the staff continued to provide the best treatments and care for them, extending to me the option of providing at-home treatment which I agreed to learn despite my fear of needles.
Dr. Yuen was extremely accommodating and patient as I learned how to administer fluids subcutaneously and was always readily available to assist me at any time I ran into difficulty. She is always there for us, providing medical care, emotional support, and words of encouragement that have taken me through some of my boys' roughest days.
Our oldest cat, Pumpkin, has recently moved on to a better world, but I believe has left this world with comfort and ease. Making a decision based on his quality of life was the most difficult decision we ever had to make, but Pumpkin had lived an extended year happily and comfortably as any other cat and although he literally cringed at the sight of needles and medicines he eventually seemed to realize that the treatments contributed to his added comfort. Even to his last days with us, he truly lived a life surrounded by happiness and love. I don't think anyone could have provided a softer cushion for us in helping to prepare for Pumpkin's journey forward than Dr. Yuen. Though there is NEVER enough time to say "See you later" to one of your best friends, the time we spent with him will always be cherished.
My youngest, Fufu, lives with Chronic Kidney Failure and Lymphoma Cancer, but continues to live a life of comfort and happiness even after three years of being diagnosed for his kidneys. He continues to demonstrate normal activities (running, jumping, playing), including the simple acts that most people take for granted (eating, cleaning himself, etc.) Seeing him so happy and active brings me so much happiness and gratitude that at times I am speechless at how best to express my gratitude to Dr. Yuen. Without her care and compassion we would never have this miraculous extended time with Fufu.
Our other two cats, Winky and Spotty (who is Diabetic) also continue to live happy, comfortable lives under guidance. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't feel the deepest appreciation to the staff of WLVC. They are always hospitable and greet us with warmth and smiles. We truly do consider them as our extended family."
